Rush plays shell games:
1. it is 26K/per spouse ie median couple makes 52K.
2. Rush conveniently counts the federal tax only, which is a small part of tax budren on the lower 50%.

Sad that many people get bamboozled by so primitive tricks.

Oh really? What about the single, childless person? Or the childless married couple?

I NEVER see ANY tax breaks for these two groups. Funny how it works, those paying the most get the least and those paying the least get the most.

It is because it will be the children of other people who will be changing your diapers at old age and work to make your retirement packages viable. Raising children is the most important works one can do - without it the society would stop to exist and had to be replaced by the immigrants from the less business savvy cultures.

Well, you missidentify the sides in the debate. It is a known social and psychological fact that the people the most harsh toward the poor are those just above them - people of modest means who see themselves as a middle class and try deperately to distance themselves from those just below. I would not be surprised if those who support more redistribution are those with really higher incomes. The very poor do not debate much.

One thing I do not understand. Are talking about WAGE EARNERS? What about the wealthy who do not need the wage income, how do they fit into the picture? I see that those statistics exclude regressive taxes like social security or sale tax. Do they exclude also the people on top who do not need to work?

If tax cuts are good, why are we borrowing money to finance the government???

If wages are good, why would you borrow money to finance your car, house, boat etc.?

Nobody is preventing me from getting on the road to riches. But, the Democrats are preventing the Republicans from reducing the amount of my riches that the government confiscates. I spoke of the road to tax reform, not the road to riches. Let's get real about this argument, the government takes WAY too much of my money and everytime they say that they want to give us some back, someone cries out that the poor are hurt. Poor people aren't complaining, and I do not really hear rich people complaining. It is posturing by politicians. They have no intention of giving us any back, nor do they have any intentions of giving more to someone else. They just want more for themselves.

They are intentionally playing the rich and the poor against each other, so they can loot us both, and the politicians can line their pockets.

Tell it to Dubya. HE's the one who keeps stirring up the 'Rats on this issue.
If he'd do something that benefited the rest of us, the 'Rats wouldn't have anything to whine about.

In my original posts (#62 & #63), I used a manufacturer / factory as an example only. I would concur with you that the majority of meaningful job growth is found in small business. These are the kinds of jobs that increase the tax base and provide for a strong financial foundation for American families.
