Why is it necessary do this battle of elimination among believers before taking on the godless? Why is this necessary and what end does it serve?

If I was in a country where my religion was a small minority, I would be happy to clear up misconceptions regarding it.

Similarly, I have known very few Catholics in my life, but I have made quite a few Catholic friends on FR and they have cleared up some of my misconceptions about their religion. I have even had one join my Church e-mail discussion list, because some in my Church are ignorantly anti-Catholic.

If this guy's faith is worth defending, why would he not gladly do so?

You know that if a Muslim were interviewing a Christian, and they had facts that Jesus Christ would have done what the false prophet Muhammed did, they would ask you the question, wanting to know if you thought a God-sent person would carnally "know" a little girl of nine years of age. Now, whether you want to ask or not, it your business. They would not leave that question unanswered, if anyone was to take their religion and prophet seriously.
