I think so, but trust me I enjoy no comfort in feeling I am correct in that assessment. I am sure previous generations wondered what life would be like for their grandchildren. But I actually fear for them, but of course that isn't productive so I spend most of my days just doing what I CAN do in living a responsible/productive life.

Thanks for the exchange of ideas. It is nice to exchange thoughts on the forum these days without getting into a "gonna get the final word" conflict that seems to permeate many of the threads.

God Bless.

Isn't it? I come here to learn what others have to say. Long before Free Republic and the Internet, I enjoyed reading letters to the editor in newspapers/magazines above any other feature. Free Republic is, IMO, a huge collection of interactive letters to the editor. I highly value listening to others and learning from them, especially if I'm proved wrong!

I have often worried that the "light" someday would go out, either on our American Way or Western Civilization. We need to fight hard to keep it burning, but we are indeed a minority in a ever-unraveling world.
