"The reanalyzed C.I.A. material included the claim that Farouk Hijazi, one of the Mukhabarat's most senior agents, traveled to Afghanistan in 1998 to meet with Osama bin Laden, and details of journeys by two of the 9/11 pilots, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah, to the United Arab Emirates, where they are said to have met with Iraqi intelligence officers.
