Plague isn't that bad ..... now if they had smallpox or HIV or some other nasty viral stuff I'd get worried.

This is our warning. No one here can say that our biological stockpiles are safe no matter how destructive or easily transmitted to the population.

Many say, "it's curable, no biggie", but it's a ridiculous slap in the face to our attempts to stop the war on terrorism and weapons of mass distraction.

Americans want our government to help us in fighting terrorism in our own country but it only seems as if we're ignoring the real problems of the way our government protects our borders and interests and paying more attention on how poor countries need to better police their people so that they cannot  take advantage of our lacking security.

Sheesh!

end rant.....

The easiest way to defeat these detection strips is to take those powerful magnets from inside discarded hard drives (they are powerful enough to stick together through the thickness of a man's hand) and swipe the labels clean.

If you really want to confuse a friendly WalMart ASSociate, swipe the twenty or so items you plan to take to the checkout with it and watch the fun! They'll declare their computer is broken while having to earn their money the old fashioned way. Typing in all those item numbers....

Shortly after the FBI released an all points bulletin for information on this suspect in the plague theft

a Pakistani barber claimed that it was actually a picture of himself.

Plague is an infectious disease of animals and humans caused by a bacterium named Yersinia pestis.

People usually get plague from being bitten by a rodent flea that is carrying the plague bacterium or by handling an infected animal.

During these outbreaks, hungry infected fleas that have lost their normal hosts seek other sources of blood, thus increasing the increased risk to humans and other animals frequenting the area.

Epidemics of plague in humans usually involve house rats and their fleas. Rat-borne epidemics continue to occur in some developing countries, particularly in rural areas.

Help me to understand this. They want us to register our guns, but there's no need to register or account for these disease samples. What if an insane person got hold of them? Like someone who worked for the college?

Someone should inform CNN of that, since they just had a scientist on who said they DON'T KNOW if it was liquid or the powder type which can be converted to the "weapons grade" .

Never date a woman who enjoys the pain of tattoo's, piercing, candle wax, or who knows how to handle a weapon. That bunch looks like those behaviors would be foreplay.

Let's put it this way: I wouldn't stay up late tonight worrying about being hit by a rat or squirrel being flung from a slingshot :)

It is true that they could easily infect rodents and release them into a populated area hoping to start an epidemic. But that would depend on the fleas multiplying enough to get into lots of homes.

The key to preventing this would be rodent and flea eradication.

Keep your home flea and rodent-free, and you're unlikely to have a problem.

And consider buying stock in "RAID" and other flea killers if you think they will try this.

Let this nation stand on the WORD of Psalms 91. Let those who want to be offended be offended, and those who know where to find true safety abide There.

I think Anthrax remains the biggest threat. The Anthrax letters in 2001 were merely a warning. If the Anthrax was dispersed in subways and city centers millions of people could have died.

I am very sad to say that I agree with you. There's too much of an "it's not my problem" mentality. Until it is, specifically their problem, and in a big way, they just aren't going to see it.
