That's what they said, but it didn't seem like that to me in the last game against Detroit. The 49ers would have one more Super Bowl ring if they had let him finish his career there.

Actually the 'skins went on to lose to the Raiders in the Super Bowl. And the Niners definitely got jobbed in that game.

You are right, of course. My how the memory plays tricks. I was recipient of one of Walsh's tickets which the Redskins provided behind the 49er bench so you couldn't see anything and I had to walk around the stadium to get a good view. I was so burned I suppose I purposely forgot what happened after that. It only needs to be said that for 15 years the road to the Super Bowl went through the 9ers, and at least two of their teams were among the best five to ever play the game.

I have great respect for Mooch after all the crap he was put through. Especially putting up with Owens in a professional manner. I hope he lands a job with a good NFC team and revisits SF someday to repay his thanks.
