You seem to have a penchant for (and granted, I don't know you in real life, so this may just be my own perception) believing the worst about those you don't think highly of, which is why I think you're wrong when it comes to Islam.

As I said in the other thread, name for me one Sunni group currently engaged in violence that isn't Wahhabi. Or one Shi'ite group that isn't at the beck and call of the Iranian leadership.

For example, you note the Islamic violence in Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Algeria, and other nations while failing to point out that the most common targets of these Wahhabi nuts (and Algeria is a perfect illustration of this) is their fellow Muslim, many of whom are fighting back even as we speak. In Algeria (a largely Muslim country), the military has fought a bloody war precisely to prevent the Sha'riah from being implemented. How can this be if the Qur'an tells them to do so?

The fact of the matter is that the Qur'an, like any other holy book, has any number of interpretations to it. Some are nasty, others are nice. You can argue that interpretation x (in this case, Wahhabism) is the true interpretation, but understand there are millions of Muslims who disagree with you in that assessment. Like all of those Iraqi Muslims who rallied in DC with the Freepers who have this odd notion that a war against Iraq is not a war on Islam.

But hey, what do I know? You've obviously discerned the true meaning of the Qur'an, something Islamic scholars have been trying to figure out for centuries. I'm just curious as to when you're going to drop the bombshell and let us all know whether the successor of Mohammed should be chosen through consensus or through blood descent through Ali and post the verses explaining why. I mean, you've already figured out the true meaning of jihad is to go out and kill every non-Muslim in sight, so this should be easy for you.
