Thanks for the info on Dennis Miller. If it's true he IS a conservative, someone HAS to get him out on a tour of U.S. college campuses! It'll give those young minds filled with liberal mush something to think about.

My husband said basically the same thing you just did about Dennis and football. I asked why Dennis wasn't good for it and he just looked at me with a totally serious face and said: "Because football is not supposed to be funny."

LOL

I've always been in awe of Miller's gift of language. But, I started to really appreciate his humor when I heard one of his "rants" from his HBO show right after the Clintons left office.

It was during the pardon mess, stealing from the White House, the trashing of Air Force One, etc....It was a time when the Clintons, who should have been gone, were in the news nightly and all the "debate shows" were hooting and yelling about the Clintons.

Miller's rant totally trashed the Clintons and then asked: ~Can't the American people get a restraining order against these people?" . ~~It was a memorable line, very funny, and one that really expressed what rational people were thinking.

Dennis Miller IS a changed man. (For the better, IMHO)

Yes, he is.

You know the Old saying.

If you're not a liberal in your twenties, you don't have a heart.

If you're not a conservative in your thirties you don't have a Brain.

Thanks for the heads up, Dennis.

You're still not getting my thirty bucks.

The only stand up comic who's actually got it right.

I believe Norm McDonald also has some conservative tendencies. And I'm trying to think of the name of the short, round, fast-talking Jewish stand-up comic--a former rabbi--who is also unabashedly conservative. Name escapes me.

There are a few more than just Dennis Miller.

Jackie Mason.

Thank you. And a very, very funny man too.

It takes astonishing courage to be openly conservative while trying to make a living in the entertainment industry.

Norm is really a conservative? Did you see an act on HBO or something? He was one of the only funny guys left on SNL, and that POS is so political now...

And Drew Carey is? Is there and act to rent?

George Carlin is waaaay left, and really socialist if you listen to him, but ever here his act on the planet? I paraphrased part of his rant for a global warming paper.

Compared to the people, the planet is doing great. Been
here four and a half billion years. Did you ever think about the arithmetic? The planet has been here four and a half billion years. We've been here, what, a hundred thousand? Maybe two hundred thousand? And we've only been engaged in heavy industry for a little over two hundred years. Two hundred years versus four and a half billion. And we have the CONCEIT to think that somehow we're a threat? That somehow we're gonna put in jeopardy this beautiful little blue-green ball that's just a-floatin'around the sun?

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles...hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages...And we think some plastic bags, and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference?

Norm MacDonald is indeed a conservative. He got "nuked" on "The View" when he said that Xlinton was a rapist. The gals got all up in arms, and after the break, he was GONE.

A snippet of Norm MacDonald from a Rolling Stone interview:

Rolling Stone: "Do you get a lot of angry mail?"

Norm MacDonald: "I get a lot of angry mail about O.J. and also Michael Jackson. I just like saying the words 'homosexual pedophile' and 'Michael Jackson.' They get really mad about that--I think they think it's a slam against homosexual pedophiles."

Some more Norm, from Weekend Update:

Norm MacDonald: Hi, I'm Norm MacDonald, and this is the fake news.

Our top story tonight: This week in the civil trial of O.J. Simpson, the jury which had earlier had found him liable in the deaths of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson, this week tacked on an additional 25 million dollars in punitive damages. On hearing the news Simpson declared "This is far from over". Asked to clarify that statement, O.J. said "I'm going to kill more people. What did you think I meant?"

Just hours after President Clinton again pledged to clean up the democratic party's fundraising operation, the Whitehouse announced he will attend a million dollar fundraiser next week. However spokesman Mike McCurry stressed that at this event "Donations from Indonesia or other foreign countries will not be accepted, unless they are left in a brown paper bag under the sink in the men's room".

More bad news for the President, this week convicted Whitewater swindler James McDougal claims that his ex-wife Susan McDougal had an affair with Clinton while he was governor of Arkansas. The President denied the charges adding, "If you really knew me you would know that I was always faithful to Gennifer Flowers."

I've always liked this one:
"Let's face it. If the Clintons' marriage were any more about convenience, they'd have to install a Slurpee machine and a Slim-Jim rack."
