To:  Sniper Victim's Families

We, the undersigned, are in full support of Bushmaster in any future legal precedings. We are intelligent Americans, and we are a dying breed.

We understand that a person should be held responsible for their actions, not the tool they use to carry them out. It is not Bushmaster's responsibility to investigate every dealer they sell to, that is the job of the Federal Government, through the ATF.

We find it appalling that people are so hungry for money that they wish to capitalize on the death of a loved one to gain financially.

By signing this, we pledge to support Bushmaster firearms whole-heartedly, and at all costs.

Some of us may begin boycotting news and media organizations as a result of the ensuing lawsuits.

We want our country back.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

*****IN YOUR FACE AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ALERT*****

Nope. No way. Not doing it. Not standing up for a bunch of pukes.

Mayber you need a little background to understand...

You see, while I agree in principle that the pending lawsuit is bogus and should be thrown out, I will not 'kneejerk' on the behalf of a corporation that I know, in fact, to be STONECOLD jerks.

For all of you out there that have had favorable dealings with Bushmaster, fine. Good. I'm really glad for you. In fact, I had the same view for a few years of dealing with them during the early Clinton years. However, Busmaster's customer service during times of favorable laws and conditions are one thing - counting on them when things eventually get tough is another...

During the 'assault weapons ban' furor prior to Clinton's anti-firearms crime bill, our friends at Bushmaster froze all pending orders, paid or not, and consistently lied about shipment dates to gain time to see which way things would go. For those of you that can recall those days, the gun community had never seen anything like that in modern times. People were incensed, alarmed, panicked and energized. We were, in many ways, much more a community by way of threat and persecution than we are now in times of relative security. Anyway, for a long period of time, Bushmaster absolutely refused to communicate with anyone by mail, fax or phone. After the passage of the bill and the subsequent bans, Bushmaster promptly upped the price of its arms, and even tried to demand more from those customers that had previously paid in full.

YA' CATCH MY DRIFT? BUSHMASTER DISSED THEIR CUSTOMERS AND TRIED TO EXTORT HIGHER PROFITS DURING A PANIC SITUATION. YA' WANT THESE 'PATRIOTIC' FELLOWS ON YOUR SIDE?

Anyone (Any FFL's out there?) with any dealing with them at that time can confirm these facts.

As I see it, Bushmaster is a firm, like our wishy-washy S&W, that trades on the good graces of gun-owning Americans to make its bread and butter, but when the chips are down, baby, they have demonstrated a perfect willingness to screw those loyal customers raw. If you wish to perpetuate the kind of ethics in the gun manufacturing community that holds it fair game to take your money today and screw you when the chips are down, fine.

But, please, don't expect me to come to the aid of your fairweather friends when they encounter a bit of bad weather.

HEY, BUSHMASTER, NICE TO BE BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE ISN'T IT? ENJOY!

I'm interested in hearing what other folks have to say in response to your comments. All I know is Bushmaster produces the best mil-spec AR-15 I've seen on the market. Didn't deal with them during the period to which you are referring so can't bring any direct experience to the discussion.

If I may, are you refering to the old SOF article that Bushmaster harks that looks at ballistic performance? If not, have you, personally, compared the Colt, ArmaLite or other variants to Bushmaster? Don't accept advertising as valid facts, look a little deeper and, if possible, rent the competitors at ranges for your own information.

ABOVE ALL, CHECK OUT MY ALLEGATIONS WITH FFL's WHO HELD LICENSES DURING THIS ERA.

. . . have you, personally, compared the Colt, ArmaLite or other variants to Bushmaster?

Actually, yes. A friend is a big AR-15 shooter and has given me the opportunity to make comparisons on the range, using his rifles. The Bushmaster is clearly superior to recent production Colts, in my view. I have no experience with Armalite.

I will talk with my favorite gun shop owners about their experience with Bushmaster.

The Best? BS.

Try DPMS or JP Specialties if you want a REALLY good AR-15 clone.

"I will talk with my favorite gun shop owners about their experience with Bushmaster."

Just remember that whatever relationship they may have today has no bearing on what was done at that time. Make certain that your FFL sources were involved with Bushmaster at that time, otherwise you'll likely get an earfull of gun-shop commando BS and extrapolated experience. As I said before:

"Anyone (Any FFL's out there?) with any dealing with them at that time can confirm these facts."

OK I located JP Specialties and bookmarked their website. Looks like they offer good rifles and appreciate the information. Now, who is DPMS? More information needed.

Per my comments about Bushmaster, they offer good products IMO for the money. Granted, they are production guns, not custom-built. That's all I was saying earlier. We having a difference of opinion doesn't make my position BS, as you chose to characterize it.

Here's alink:

http://www.armalite.com/index-old.htm

If I recall correctly, ArmaLite originally developed the AR series weapons and Colt only got the government contracts later on.

I've got a Bushmaster AR-15. Its a fine shooting gun, though I did have to do a very minor smith job on it - seems that one of the ball-and-spring holes was inadequately drilled. Easy fix. Gun shoots fine.

Yeah, and the first few Jews who went into the gas chambers really were a little too greedy and money-grubbin'.

I will stand up for even an "unpopular" gun maker (I happen to be a loyal customer) because I don't want to set a precedent for the illegal abuse of other gun makers.

If you had any principles, you would see that Bushmaster shouldn't be sued, except by a few disgruntled customers like you.

"If you had any principles, you would see that Bushmaster shouldn't be sued, except by a few disgruntled customers like you."

Unfortunately you miss the point of my post, but that is understandable since most of what you posted is irrelevant too. Reread my post and you'll not only see that I oppose the general principle of specious lawsuits, but I make a case against Busmaster precisely BECAUSE of principles.

In addition, I happen to believe in the free market system that in the wake of the 'ban' fostered the current demand and climate for ALL of the variant manufacturers out there. My point is that Bushmaster has proven itself unprincipled, unethical and willing to sell shooters down stream if it suits their pocketbook.

I wonder where your "principles" led you when S&W got in bed with the Clinton adminstration a few years back?

If you wish to buy their products (which are, BTW, quite good) then fine. America is a free country where everyone can pursue their happiness. If your pursuit takes you over a cliff someday, I'm sure you'll be happy then too.

Thanks for the link. I believe you are correct about Armalite originating the AR design.

Perhaps you should provide some support for this point.
