The "w" hand sign would work fine, but if there's an html guru out there who can take the ancient symbol for steel as reproduced in Rudolph Koch's Book of Signs and paste it here, I think it would be acceptable, paintable and easily drawn counter to the footprint of the American chicken.

A variation of the sign for Zeus and/or Jupiter. It has also been used for steel in alchemy. and were other signs for steel.
