[history]
McCorvey is "Jane Roe," the pseudonym she assumed to remain anonymous as the lead plaintiff in the case that legalized abortion in the United States.
"I'm very sad (about the anniversary)," she told CNN Interactive in a telephone interview. "But this year, I've got so much to do, I don't have time to sit down and be sad."

The 30th anniversary of this ruling that affects all of us is next Wednesday - January 22, 2003. I found this 1998 article from a Google Search. I found it interesting and thought perhaps other FReepers might as well...

The real issue about this lady and what others will experience is...their child would have been 30 years old.
And she killed him/her....what a sorry story.
Now she regrets it and is trying to educate others. For this reason only I believe this lady truly understands how wrong it was...
She would probably have one or two additional grandchildren...wonder what their names would have been...where they would have gone to school???

They couldn't understand this strange relationship with the head of Operation Rescue and the poster child of the pro-abortion movement," Benham said.Because they don't understand how Jesus works in the hearts of those who believe in Him

She never had the abortion. Her daughter was born and adopted.

Her daughter in the SCOTUS case was born before the decision was handed down, was adopted and is a christian too.
From reading the above, she had two other children who were raised by others.

"Sarah Weddington, the attorney who along with Linda Coffee represented the plaintiffs, now says she would have picked a different plaintiff, who might have better represented the case."
I'm sure it's been looked into but these two *itches should be disbarred!

Women should control their own bodies....by killing the bodies inside of them.
How about controlling your body before you create another living, breathing human being? That way, you won't have to be a party to infanticide just to avoid an inconvenience.
Of course, there's no debating anyone who considers an abortionist a "doctor".

30 years of freedom... freedom to kill, freedom to brutally murder the innocent for the sake of convenience.
It's all about control, folks.
Exactly right. And it's going to end up being all about the absolute control that the dictatorship that America is becoming will exert on every one of us. Abortion is incompatible with freedom, because it rests on the proposition that the fundamental rights of some people rest on the choices of other people. Once that camel has its nose in the tent, it's only a short logical jump to the conclusion that the fundamental rights of all people rest on the choices of the powerful elite. And that's the end of American liberty, and the end of the American republic. That's what you're really celebrating.

The book
Won by Love, written by Norma (or Miss Norma, as two young girls in the story referred to her), is available in HARDCOVER for $3.49 at BookCloseouts.
There are 93 copies left and these are brand new copies of the book (I bought 35 to give away at that price).
The web link is:
http://www.bookcloseouts.com/bc/show_books_author.asp?author=McCorvey%2C+Norma
This site has the much older book (and "outdated") I am Roe when Norma wrote a book from the perspective of still being Pro-Abortion.
Won by Love is about both sides, but it really show how ugly it was at the abortion clinics (mills). The clinic workers had to take drugs (illegal) to work there and would offer them to the girls/women (because they also had a tough time with the abortion).
