I must have missed the rallies these folks organized against the war in Bosnia and the attacks on Sudanese aspirin factories.

Proof positive that these rallies are not anti-war, they are anti-Bush, anti-Republican and anti-American. these people are big frauds. They can't even admit what their true agenda is.

Saddam Hails Worldwide Anti-War Demonstrations
Sat January 18, 2003 03:28 PM ET
By Nadim Ladki

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - President Saddam Hussein hailed worldwide anti-war demonstrations on Saturday and said the protests showed that Iraq had international support for standing up to the United States.....

(this announcement was no doubt followed by a televised tongue-cutting of whomever dared to criticize "Uncle Saddam"...)

So did we ever get an anywhere-near-accurate counting of the Smellies? As usual, the numbers offered up by the media are all over the map.

The warblogger crowd is reporting that the turnout in DC and SF were much smaller than expected, and were virtually nonexistent in much of the rest of the world.

Don't give up. The strongest rope is made of many single strands. United we are strong. No king ever had a sword mightier than the pen of the American citizen. (Ok, enought cliches.)

Write a letter of support for GWB to your Congressman today, and don't forget your local media outlets.

Do you think this collection of human debris we witnessed today were the Americans who frantically sifted through the WTC rubble for survivors? Do you think they left their civilian jobs, on a moments notice; responding as soldiers, sailors, airmen, to the 9/11 attacks?

Don't give up, for the sake of those who wear the Uniform of the Armed Forces, write a letter! Good luck.

"We filled the auditorium and QUIETLY voiced our opposition to the current law...."

That's exactly why your group got stiffed by the politicians.

"My little voice isn't going to make a difference when up against the organized thugs and haters like we've seen today".

That's exactly why the thugs and haters get heard, and we seldom do. We cave, give up fighting back, don't organize, and stay home to attack our keyboards to feel better. Actually (gasp) joining up with conservative activist groups fighting back (like our liittle band of freezing freepers today at the rally) is just too much work and time-consuming discomfort for way too many people.

My comments are not personal, Twyn1, because we all go into despair at times. But we have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and get INVOLVED in other ways than just crying in our beer and venting our spleens to each other.

Here's some background reading for all those folks out at the anti-war rallies today...

Contained in the U.K. report, titled "Saddam Hussein: Crimes and Human Rights Abuses," are:

* A March 6, 1991, order from Baghdad Security Headquarters to officials in outlying provinces instructing them to "kill 95 percent" of any crowd of demonstrators - leaving the remaining 5 percent for interrogation.

* The tragic case of Najar Mohammed Haydar, a Baghdad obstetrician, who was beheaded in October 2000 on charges of prostitution. Her real crime: speaking out against corruption in Iraqi health care system.

* New eyewitness details about the Sijn al-Tarbut or "casket prison" - a ghastly underground structure operated by Saddam's elite Republican Guard in Baghdad, where victims are held in coffin-like rectangular steel boxes and are allowed out for only a half-hour each day.

Why are all *.blogspot.com posts banned from the News forum? Many of their sites are full of useful news, and, more importantly, most people that use blogging software DO NOT use blogspot.com as their host, and thus FR's intent, whatever it is, is not fulfilled 95%+ of the time.

Saddam's instructions to his security forces on how to handle anti-government demonstrations.

Chief of Security Dohuk Governorate 2/3/1991 Instructions

1. All officers, deputies and NCOs to report to their bases with all theirweapons immediately upon hearing of a demonstration, in order toreceive instructions.

2. All of those responsible for the self defence of the directorate to remain at post without leaving their place of duty under the supervision ofofficer in charge.

3. In the event of a hostile demonstration, these groups will be contained by closing all access routes and by taking control of all high pointsoverlooking them.

4. After taking the above measures and containing the hostile elements, armed force will be used in accordance with central instructions to kill 95% of them, and to leave 5% for interrogation.

5. If the force comes under hostile fire from other directions and it is possible that there are saboteur elements in the vicinity to protect the demonstration, the force will return fire intensively.

6. An emergency force will be prepared to reinforce the primary force andto defend sensitive sites.

7. The technical unit will, when authorised, use technical means as instructed under the supervision of the officer of the unit and thesecurity representative Tahir Mahmud Ahmad. (Editorial note: technical unit and technical means are euphemisms for chemical weapons.)

RE #982. THANK YOU.

One active thing that can be done by everyone who reads
FR, is to print business cards with the FR web address. Or, go to FR's home page, and print out a stack of the whole first page. It's a great home page! Hand these tangible pieces of paper to people. Put it on the street. Make them deal with it.

Our address is long. When I have told it to people, their eyes seem to unfocus, while they try to memorize it. Give them a gift! Give them a piece of paper to deal with. We will get more hits. If more readers are informed by reading FR, and contributing, JimRob's hard work will go in the history books.

FReepers may watch the left throw their temper tantrums, and complain about the media, etc., but I trust them to vote. Voting is the exercise. Winning is the reward.

Don't leave home without it! Keep a stack in your bag, car or desk. Never go to a Freep without a handout. Never go to a service club meeting without a handout. Don't go to lunch without a handout!

I know a good man who gave nice FR pens, as a handout - to
waitresses, no less. What a country!
