Many FReepers may have wondered what purpose the ugly art in downtown metropolitan regions was erected for. Now we know.

High school kids who do this sort of thing would be cited for loitering, skateboarding, and being a public nuisance. Adults who should know better aren't.

New evidence shows Lincoln didn't want to fight the civil war? Gee, all he had to do would have been not to commit troops! But he had no choice; he didn't want the North to have to pay all the taxes - that was the job of the South! There was no income tax then, the Feds were funded by tarrifs. The south did most of the import and export business, thus paid most of the taxes. The idea of finding different funding for the government never occured to him!
