Taking pedophiles off the street is not a waste of local resources IMO.

The makes the case even easier. All you have to do is set up a LOCAL sting (less press, easier to keep quiet for blackmail purposes).

Since you KNOW Ritter is going to be looking for sex online, entrapment is a piece of cake.

Your theory doesn't make sense though. Why would the government be blackmailing Ritter to speak out against the government?

Ritter is one of many modern day Judases out trying to defend Uncle Soddomite. Money and records of their dark side life styles are probably the key motivitators. Ritter's case is right out of the KGB handbook of how to turn an enemy into your ally.

But you fail to recognize that any conspiracy (I assume you're capable of admiting that they do exist) - is designed to appear innocent. It is designed specifically to be explained away by "occam's razor".

Only when exposed or questioned does the razor test fail.

You're right on the smell test DAncon.    Perhaps a FR legal mind can answer:

• why would the matter be adjourned?  Circumstances for such action?
• why seal the case and decline to release the arrest records?  again, circumstances?

And what's with the anonymity on the part of LE?   BTW, as I read it, the situation is *not* a kiddie porn issue - in which the FBI was hot 'n heavy in 2001 investigations (maybe still?).

1. They want the dissent for some reason. Setting up your own opposition can be an interesting and useful tactic sometimes.
2. Democrats would want Ritter to speak out against Bush.
3. An anti-war force within the government would want Ritter to speak out against war with Iraq.
