"Furthermore, it would be interesting to know if there is ANOTHER charge elsewhere......"

No tin foil hat needed here.

Rarely is a criminal caught for his/her first criminal act.

You can bet the farm Ritter has a background of this behavior in his past.

Now.....who will be the news organization to obtain and release this information?

If so, then surely the FBI/CIA would know and would have known.

The makes the case even easier. All you have to do is set up a LOCAL sting (less press, easier to keep quiet for blackmail purposes).

Since you KNOW Ritter is going to be looking for sex online, entrapment is a piece of cake.

This scenario gives you both :

He's guilty.
The Government set him up as political blackmail.

Perfectly feasible scenario.

Exactly!

And isn't this now the old, old story? An eminently blackmailable official falls prey to any number of foreign/domestic attempts to recruit him? Ah, the story is finally beginning to make sense.

Just last week some of us were talking about his motives (once again) and someone made the comment that he was just too impassioned on tv last week to be doing this just for money.

Well, Scotty, time to get out of town. Your days of shilling for Saddam are effectively over.
