Sounds like he IS dead and the 2nd tier is now trying to sort themselves out. Each faction wants ultimate power. They are fighting among themselves, which probably means some deaths. If they are apologizing, however obliquely,for alQeada *mistakes*, then it looks to me as though they really are hurting from all the arrests and terminations thruout the Western nations.

I'd say, all in all, it sounds like good news.

I agree. Internecine fighting can only work in our favor. And it must be because of the many arrests around the world. It seems we've created a leadership vaccum that the underlings are trying to fill to get their power. I'm actually feeling cautiously optimistic at the moment. When we get them using their energy/time/brain power looking at each other instead of us, it's a good thing.
