As people felt they were being filled with the Holy Spirit, they became vocal, with sounds rising and falling rhythmically. Some swayed and some fell down on the ground and began writhing.

Invite the Holy Spirit in to fill the empty spirit, the empty soul. He said to invite Holy Spirit in, accepting him as the leader and guide for their lives.

I do note for the record that time4good did not deny the similar wording between Pentecostalism and Gaiaism (or whatever it is called). Neither, I suspect, will you deny the similar wording in what I "quoted" above with what are generally called "slain in the spirit" and "speaking in tongues".

However, if you have actually witnessed such a thing, I am safe in saying that you weren't at a legitimate "Pentecostal" church. Satan loves it when he can trick people and cause ridicule by associating cults with true belief. ~ JudyB1938

I'd dare to say that the vast majority of what passes for Pentecostalism is a Satanic charade.

P.S. Is the "gift of tongues" available to anybody?

I'm among the first who stood up years ago and denounced certain aspects that were creeping into my faith. Oral Roberts was the first object of my wrath back in 1956 when I was a senior in high school!

However, it stands to reason that if we were to judge the entire Christian faith by the charlatans and sinful acts of some "professing" Christians, we'd have to throw out Jesus himself, period. But He knew there would be stuff like this happening. That's why He told us to test EVERY spirit.

As far as the availability of Speaking in Tongues, usually people ask for that gift. There have been times when it descended upon a person though who didn't ask for it. As far as trying to explain it, how do you explain the taste of a pear? Unless one has experienced something for oneself, understanding may remain elusive.
