In the New World, it is the common man and woman who rule by Divine Right, not the king, emperor, priest, pharaoh or caliph, as in the Old World.

What a great way to express this idea and remind us of how unique America really is. And it's true - liberty is a fragile thing and the old ways are just around the corner if we ever forget the responsibilities that come with our freedoms. I loved this essay! Thanks to JW for sharing it with us.
