You have been warned of my presence, but you do not listen.

You can not hide.

Illness, revulsion, disease and death follow me and are my friends.

I will give you nothing.

I will take everything you have and then seek more.

I will cause you to turn away from all you once believed in.

I will blind your eyes to the sins of your elected leaders.

The Prince of Darkness alone sends me into your life.

Once allowed inside, seldom am I asked to leave.

America, won't you please allow me to enter and give me rest.

I will remove all your worries and concerns.

I will take away any concern for individual responsibility.

I will bring you bliss.

Great post.In this socialist world, rights accrue to the group rather than to the individual. After deliberation, consensus is achieved by a vote and the "general will" is thus determined. That nebulous "general will" is the sticky part Monsieur Rousseau never adequately explains, but it is from this that the group may then "coerce" the individual to "virtue". Indeed, in contradiction to Adam Smith, Rousseau would prefer us virtuous rather than prosperous. Thus do the social utopians seek to bring the mighty low rather than raise us all to "noble" status. It is the dark,covetous, vengeful nature of collective egalitarianism that kept the guillotine busy. That obsession with group rights( class struggle) morphed into the malignant group mania of radical egalitarianism's twisted relative-communism. Beware those who seek to bestow rights upon various groups: by race, by religion,by language, by region, by ethnicity. Rights are not theirs to bestow or withold, they are divinely endowed and inalienable.No matter to such as these. Likewise, cast a jaundiced eye on those who carp on class differences, always seeking a shift in the ownership of private property or those who can't wait to reform you. Because of their "wisdom", but by brute force of the state they'll save you from yourself: keep off the grass, put out that cigarette,fasten that seatbelt, drive past that McDonald's, park that SUV, lift with your legs not your back. They favor the eternal expansion of the nanny state, but the same state can turn into Joe Stalin PDQ. In their zeal to put virtue onto all of us they're more than happy to sacrifice "our" freedom. It's such a bargain in the pursuit of that elusive "general will". Robespierre said that "terror is nothing but prompt,severe, inflexible justice; it is therefore an emanation of virtue."
His disciples Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Mao, et al took his words all too much to heart. Don't let any of these collectivist bastards slide on the little stuff...ever.
