WASHINGTON - Just before President Bush delivers his State of the Union address tonight, activist actress Susan Sarandon plans to upstage him. "Before our kids start coming home from Iraq in body bags and women and children start dying in Baghdad, I need to know, 'What did Iraq do to us?'" the 56-year-old New Yorker asks in a 30-second television spot that will air just before the 9 p.m. speech.
Edward Peck, a former ambassador to Iraq, tells her in the bit: "The answer is nothing. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, nothing to do with Al Qaeda. ... Invading Iraq will increase terrorism, not reduce it."
The White House has signaled it may soon lay out evidence proving him wrong.
The spot is being paid for by an anti-war group called True Majority, run by Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's ice cream fame. It urges Bush to seek a peaceful resolution and to allow the inspections to continue.

Nice of you to join us today.
Wax on....wax off.

So you do admit, that Sarandon and her type, are cowardly pacifists?

Here's a
good article addressing the naivety of the "give peace a chance" crowd. It's an excellent read.

Good practical example of the difference between democracy and republicanism. In a democracy every individual must have his demands met. In a republic, you elect representatives to be your voice. If you don't like the "voice" you get, you get to eject them.
Why does anyone care what Sarandon "thinks" (I hate to use that term in her case because it implies brain activity)? She is ONE unelected person voicing a personal, uninformed opinion.

According to your "logic", if I see a burning apartment building and ring the fire alarm resulting in firefighters having to risk their lives to put out the blaze but I myself am not a fireman and not trained to put it out, the building deserves to burn down with all the people inside?

Sorry your post was deleted, but incidentally, George W. Bush's fighter squadron volunteered to serve in Vietnam but was rejected.

It's kind of late in the game to start acting now, isn't it?I liked her in Bull Durham.
Anyway, free speech is one of those Constitutional things.

None of these Lefties actually have kids in the U.S. military. I'm not sure if Sarandon even has kids.
Can it, Janet.

I love the work of my plummer. I don't care what his view of world politics is neither.
Sarandon's voice should not be given anymore time by the media than my plummer's voice.

Hollywood is soooooooo irrelevant and sooooooooooo not worthy of my attention....either in the movies or in protests. Stick to "acting", Susan.

'What did Iraq do to us?'"This from the same crowd that asks why Bush didn't do something to stop 9-11.
Well, the question should be "What will Iraq do to us?", and the answer to that is, they will do any and everything they can to do us harm. Future al-Qaedas will need states like Iraq to fund them and support them albeit in a clandestine manner. Iraq's leader has publicly stated his hatred of America. He has attempted to assasinate a former president. (If this had been Clinton what would Susan be saying?) They will hit us when we least expect it, on our own soil.
There is no scenario whereby the war on terror can be won that doesn't include the removal of Saddam Hussein.

This is typical Liberal propaganda. Try reminding a Liberal of the news footage of Al Qaeda training in Iraq. They're response is "So? Al Qaeda trained here in the U.S. too!" My response to this is "Yeah. Under Clinton's watch!"

Seat wetting!!!

I love it. She is a great representative for Liberals. Maybe she can do a little dance from Rock Horror to spice up her message. I love the recent statement she made in another country about how lucky they were to have had so much experience with terror and that was something the US was lacking. Talk about dim light bulbs.

Here is an example of her bona fides to be spokesman for the world:
the Rocky Horror Picture Show
soundtrack lyrics
- Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me
I was feeling done in, couldn't win
I'd only ever kissed before.
I thought there's no use getting into heavy petting
It only leads to trouble and seat wetting...
Now all I want to know is how to go
I've tasted blood and I want more
I'll put up no resistance, I want to stay the distance
I've got an itch to scratch, I need assistance:
Toucha toucha toucha touch me, I wanna be dirty
Thrill me chill me fulfil me
Creature of the night.
Then if anything grows while you pose
I'll oil you up and rub you down
And that's just one small fraction of the main attraction
You need a friendly hand and I need action...
Toucha toucha toucha touch me, I wanna be dirty
Thrill me chill me fulfil me
Creature of the night.
