Why Does Anyone Remain A Democrat?

Considering the fact that most, if not all Democratic Party Leaders are amoral, why does anyone remain a Democrat?

Daschle, Tom (Senate Democratic Minority Leader) -- Consummate obstructionist. Sen. John Breaux (D-Louisiana) on CNN, "The worst thing to run on is getting nothing done." No wonder Daschle dropped out of the Presidential Race. Daschle's wife is a lobbyist representing "special interests" that come up for votes in the Senate.

Edwards, John (D-Sen., North Carolina) - Multimillionaire trial attorney. His political base is other wealthy Liberals. Charming and photogenic in the "Clinton mold," he's perceived as a "lightweight."

Gebhardt, Dick (D-Former House Speaker from Missouri) -- Led Demos to several election defeats, especially in 2002. Lost 1998 Demo Presidential Nomination bid. Labor Unions are his traditional Liberal voting base.

Kerry, John (D-Sen., Massachusetts) -- Married the widow of Sen. John Heinz (R-Sen., Penn) to become the richest member of Congress. Robert Novak (CNN Crossfire, 24 Jan. 2003) reported: "There's a legal question involved and not just political spin. I reported yesterday that one of the Democratic presidential hopefuls, Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, was trying to have it both ways on Iraq." Kerry voted to give President Bush war-making authority in Iraq and then delivered a major foreign policy speech attacking the president for pressing the war.

Lieberman, Joseph (D- Sen., Connecticut -- Many Democrats don't like him because he's a hawk on the war with Iraq. Left Wing Liberals grudgingly admit he has name-recognition, but the Party Demagogues won't go for Lieberman unless they're forced to do so.

Sharpton, Al (New York) - Perceived as a racist, particularly against Jews. Defended Tawana Brawley who made phony charges against Whites. Fiery rhetoric incited two Black versus Jews riots in 1990's that resulted in bloodshed and death. Asked about his political base, Sharpton said (CNN Crossfire, 24 January 2003), "First of all, I'm not running an African-American campaign. We're running a broad-based campaign that includes African-Americans and Latinos and gays and lesbians and laborers and others."

We plead for safe borders while Liberal Democrats continue to issue identity cards to illegal aliens.

We plead for liberation from the tyranny of the United Nations while Democrats praise our foes in the UN.

We plead to end terrorism threats, including biological and chemical assaults on our own soil, while Democrats play domestic politics as usual.

Well, you've got to remember that it is an inherent fact of statistics that in any population, 50% have got to be below average. That creates plenty of fruitful ground for the Democrats to cultivate and flourish.
