Is this an imposter of Dennis Miller? Not the same one I used to know.

Good comics have perfect pitch regarding the public mood. Dennis lost his job on Monday Night Football. He's trying to rebuild his career. More people support Bush on national defense than oppose him. So you play to the majority and mock the minority.

Is this an imposter of Dennis Miller? Not the same one I used to know. I'm thinking that its more a function of the fact that its becoming "cool" to be conservative...he's catering to the audience that will most likely pay attention to him. He's not fooling me either.

The only reason, it seemed, that so many FReepers hated Miller was because he was chosen over Rush to work MNF.

911 has converted 'some' to the RIGHT side. When TERROR strikes one's HOME the result is conversion or self-blame. He is a convert, at least for now.

I saw Dennis Miller skewer the media in 1992 for mocking Admiral Stockwell after the VP debate. I'm paraphrasing but the gist was: "He was the first man in and the last man out in Vietnam, and the press is chewing him up for the unpardonable sin of not looking good on television. They aren't worthy to carry his jockstrap," or words to that effect. This was in front of an audience of 70,000 at the University of Florida. I wasn't a Perot supporter, but I was surprised and glad to see Stockwell defended in this way, and nobody was saying it's cool to be conservative back then.

I think his time at the XFL have tempered his sensabilities. And he went 10 minutes without a Pliny-the-elder reference!

Jeanine Garafolo is a selfish, bitter, unattractive brat. 3 years ago I met her in LA. She was hosting a comedy nite at a club I worked for. Last year she was in Houston, where I live now. I recognized her in the back seat of the car next to me when the driver stopped to ask me for directions. I had them follow me to the club they were looking for. Upon arrival, she didn't even bother to say thank you, offer to buy me a drink or even aknowledge that we knew some of the same people in LA. Next time I'll know better. Celebrities are petty, nasty people. Even Steven Balwin, who I officed with in LA, and who is from the same town I am, wouldn't take 10 seconds to take a picture with me to send to my mom. Same guy offered me my own HBO special. What a jerk!
