OTTAWA, Jan 30 (Reuters) - A left-leaning Canadian legislator, infuriated by what she calls Washington's hypocrisy over Iraq, said on Thursday she would lead a team of volunteer arms "inspectors" to the United States next month to seek out weapons of mass destruction.
Libby Davies, member of Parliament for the New Democratic Party, said U.S. President George W. Bush posed just as much danger to the world as Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, who faces the prospect of an imminent U.S.-led attack.
"Our action challenges the hypocrisy of the U.S. president's stance on weapons of mass destruction," she said.
"Our mission is to draw attention to the fact that there are weapons of mass destruction -- for example, about 15,000 nuclear warheads -- in the United States that pose a massive threat to global peace," she told reporters.
Davies, acting on behalf of a new international coalition called Rooting Out Evil, said the inspectors would travel to the Washington area on Feb. 22.
Coalition organizers said the United States was guilty of the same charges it had leveled against Iraq -- namely, it had massive stockpiles of deadly weapons, was ignoring the United Nations and refused to honor international treaties.
"We're following Bush's lead and demanding that the U.S. grant our inspectors immediate and unfettered access to any site in the country," said Rooting Out Evil organizer Christy Ferguson, adding the group would soon send a formal inspection request to U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
No one was immediately available for comment at the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa.

Perhaps this moron can produce the agreement we signed 11 years ago giving Canada the right to make inspections in exchange for their promise not to destroy our country.
Having such an agreement would make this situation correctly analogous. Since such an agreement doesn't exits these flyspecs are merely an annoyance.
However, If he wants to see weapons, there are 70 million private American citizens who can help him out!

Libby Davies, Come on down!
I'm sure the security forces at any significant location have their orders.
....... lock & load.

Isn't it about time to tell Canada that we can no longer afford to include them in the North American Air Defense Command, and the next time some nutjob state like North Korea fires a nuke their way, they should call the UN to protect them?

"Our action challenges the hypocrisy of the U.S. president's stance on weapons of mass destruction," she said.Look up "hypocrisy" in the dictionary and you will see the Canadian Maple Leaf. When Britain was facing invasion by the Nazi's in 1940, the Canadians refused to allow British pilots to be sent to "Kanukistan" for training. They didn't want to violate Canada's "neutrality". Until '42, more British pilots were trained in Oklahoma and Texas than all of Canada.

If she imposes on herself the same self-imposed restrictions the inspectors observe in Baghdad, she could be here until she retires and never find anything at all.
After all, UN inspectors are not going onto military bases, and if you aren't going to look for weapons on military bases, its pretty well certain you're not going to find any.
Personally, I want the gig looking for WMD in Costa Rica. I'm sure they're there, leave me there long enough (on expenses, of course) and I'm sure I can find something. If I don't, obviously, I must stay a little longer...

Saying that the United States possessing nukes is on par with Saddam or North Korea having nukes shows complete lack of judgement and basic thought. It's kinda like blaming guns for gun crimes so you try to ban guns thinking that gun crimes will decrea... HEY wait a minute!!!!

The difference between the US and Iraq:
Iraq invaded their richest bordering neighbor, raped the women, pillaged the wealth, shipped all the machinery home and set the place on fire as they left.
Any more comments from the great white north???

I assume the fork is her WMD of choice...Yes, it would seem as if she is denying food to the more deserving that are starving in the third world. The UN should inspect her refrigerator.
