Maariv ^

The left wing of the shuttle picture taken from the window of the shuttle.
Main Issue in the Article
Did Nasa know about this and therefore kept their silence, not telling the astronauts?
-The photo was revealed on Channel 1 of Israel. This pic was taken during an interview the Channel had with the Israeli astronaut.

I've been to Israel, and I enjoyed the country and it's people were always treated me very well... that being said, you havn't really swayed me to your point of view by saying it's the 'New York Times of Israel'... ;0)

It is a still photo from the video taken during a talk between Ramon and the Israeli PM at a press conference.
Then why didn't they tell NASA about it?
If you say they overlooked it, perhaps NASA did also..
(assuming it's legit and it is the wing and all of that stuff)

Again, how would they get any of these items INTO the Columbia? There's this thing called depressurization that happens when you open a Spacecraft in orbit. Did I mention that this would pretty much instantly kill all those aboard said Spacecraft? Yes, I'll agree the Astronauts aboard Columbia should have been told about the damage and at least had a chance to look, and then of course worry about if they would be able to actually make it home for 14 or more days. Of course tiles have been damaged before. In fact there have been 8 other occurances of this sort of damage happening during a shuttle launch, 5 of which happend to this very ship. If there would have had a way to fix this, I'm sure they would have, or at least tried. Unfortunately they didn't have the tools necessary to do this, and they forgot to bring MacGyver along with them. I'm sure he could have fixed it with bubblegum and some of those spare EVA suits that people keep saying should have been (but were not) on the shuttle.

I know you were. That was just my weak attempt at some humor. We can still find times to smile while discussing this sad tragedy here among friends.

I made that Analogy based on not the content of the New York Times to what Maariv has, but based on the availability of that paper throughout the US and the number of readers.

YES. I have stated that. It is a still photo from the video taken during a talk between Ramon and the Israeli PM at a press conference.
Then who was holding the video camera? Was this footage available only to the Israelis?

YES. I have stated that. It is a still photo from the video taken during a talk between Ramon and the Israeli PM at a press conference. It says so in the article. The article talks about this revelation as put forward on Channel 1 in IsraelDid you see the interview? Unless you have seen the actual interview when it was run, don't believe your own eyes on something like this. I've had enough dealings with the media at this point to know that the media(especially) make lots of mistakes.
Yonif, I recently spent about 2 months looking at every photo of the space shuttle that I could find. I am talking about thousands of photos. I can assure you- that is not a photo of the wing of Columbia.

Get a grip because there is an attack coming that NASA is to blame and The President is to blame, so get ready. I warned about it last night. No one cared to discuss it.

"Are they suggesting that NASA either didn't see this or that they ignored it? Impossible. I am sure that NASA did everything possible to determine if this was enough damage to be a problem."
How can you be so sure? Mistakes and irresponsibility can be present.

It was already supposedly launched this morning on Meet The Press. Haven't gotten confirmation though. But it won't be long until Hitlary is on the senate floor saying "What did he know and when did he know it!"

Here is a link for you to look at-
Nasa Spaceflight Shuttle GalleryIt is still getting lots of traffic, so it is slow. But, there are thousands of photos of every shuttle mission.
Spend some time there looking at photos, and you will see for yourself that the photo in the Israeli newspaper is wrong.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there. The left has tried to pin 9/11 and the economy on President Bush, so of course they are going to try to make this look like his fault.

An "attack" on dubya from the Jews?
I think the sun is more likely to rise in the west tomorrow than for them to stage an organized "attack" in the most Pro-Israel President we have seen in a decade.
No.. No way.
It's completely against their own best interest.. If anything, I can see them covering up for him, us and NASA.
Not the other way around.

So WHAT?!? Let 'em bring it on!!! What are you doin, trying to generate a self-fulfilling prophecy? I saw all your posts and little hissy fit with howlin. You two cluttered up the whole thread with that silly spat!!!
Therefore... don't ever tell me to "get a grip" ever in your life, again!!!

1. I neither believe or disbelieve this photo. I have presented this as current event material as pertaining to the shuttle mishap. This is an example of one of the main israeli newspaper reporting. They do not believe or disbelieve it as well. They are just providing some info that they have gotten.
2. I do not believe NASA cannot make mistakes. There is no organization that has no flaws.
3. Maariv = New York Times, not in content, but by readership and availability. Maariv is the biggest newspaper in Israel, one of 3. If it is a bunch of crap newspaper, then why would the IDF link to it on their site? I have lived there and know this.
