It certainly will get big play. My husband is Hispanic and I know the Democrats blocking Estrada based on ill-conceived and even iller-explained reasoning would seem very offensive to many....
I truly, truly hope that Estrada's nomination goes right through, though, Bush really needs a break right now.

Mr. Estrada's nomination in no way justifies a filibuster. The case against him is that he is a conservative who was publicly criticized by a former supervisor in the Office of the Solicitor General, where he once worked.
Having failed to assemble a plausible case against him, Democrats are now arguing that this failure is itself grounds for his rejection -

I believe it will. The dims will hold their fire for the white guy, Pickering. Afterall, white guys stopped voting for the democrats years ago.
