Chinas Xinhua news agency, in a dispatch from Pyongyang, North Korea tonight (Asia time) said the North Koreans have commenced emergency air defense drills (blackout) due to the movement of US military troops/navy in the Korean peninsula area. This was top news on Yahoo in Japanese (www.yahoo.co.jp) a few minutes ago.

I did not know whether to post this under news (breaking) or humor (considering the famous satellite photos of N. Korea vs S. Korea at night). At any rate, that is what Xinhua is reporting today. They are ramping up their 'defense' to battle the imperialist agressors they are convinced will attack.

Thanks for your timely reports from the front lines.
I expect to be reading this in my morning newspaper in about 3 days to a week.

Memo to North Korea: We use night vision, radar terrain mapping, GPS and other computer assissted forms of targeting nowadays, so your pitiful "blackouts" aren't going to make a whit of difference. But do whatever makes you feel better.

Since Russia is against the US freeing the people of Iraq, we will be hearing all kinds of things that the North Koreans are doing.

Watch what Russia and the communist/socialist/liberals in this country do and say. North Korea will not do anything that Russia does not want it to do.

How far Russia and the other "communists" will go to try and stop a freeing of the people of Iraq remains to be seen.

Are they thinking we have World War II technology? I don't think black outs will fool GPS.

We should do fly-overs every night with UAVs till they are exhausted from the drills.

Every FReeper should read their government news agency http://www.kcna.co.jp to get a huge belly laugh.
I used to compete in speech & debate in college, our college got an English-language DPRK propaganda newspaper; I used to copy and file it so I would have humorous introductions to speeches. Always something good along the line of "running-dog imperialists."

If the cities WERE the target, blackouts wouldn't make a bit of difference. Ain't technology wonderful?

I agree. After awhile they'll just get burnt out.
