I got out of NY nearly 7 years ago and it would take an act of God to ever get me to live there again.

I know how you feel. I once felt the same way. We were looking to get out of NYC years ago but it was an act of God that kept us here. Here, more than ever, people need God, so we stayed to work in a church here. That is the only reason we are here and will remain here until and if God ever releases us. It saddens me to see such hatred towards the people of NY here on FR, because this place is a place that needs prayer before God Almighty condemns. Last I heard, that was not our place. (I'm not saying you are doing that, but others in these NY threads surely do.)

I guess I should stop before I find myself preaching. I hate the politics of this place, but their politics also reveal a great need for spiritual renewal. The liberal lie in this place is powerful but not more powerful than the love combined with the standards of God. okay, okay....I'm stopping! I just couldn't resist!

Me too. I'm a NYer and a conservative Republican (yes, in NY). I'm staying here fighting instead of giving in to the rats. I guess we and the California Freepers have an uphill battle.

I know where you're coming from on doing ministry in NYC.

For short while in the mid 90's I worked for a drug/alcohol rehab ministry in Brooklyn. I've also done some ministry work in New Orleans.

I once had a heart for urban ministry. Now I don't care if I ever set foot in a big city again.

I know its wrong but I almost see major urban areas as the enemy of America, especially when I see people like Schumer, Clinton, and others who get into office because the city vote outweighs the rest of the state. I seriously think it's time to redraw some state lines.
