Sofia Lucerno Juarez
5 years old
White/Hispanic female
Approximately 3 feet tall
33 pounds
Long black hair to the middle of her back.
Brown eyes
Last seen wearing Blue overalls, red long sleeve shirt, violet colored
socks and white Converse shoes. Sofia was also wearing gold hoop earrings
and has a small mole under her left eye. Sofia is missing four of her top front teeth.

Sofia was last seen playing with her brother in their bedroom. The child walked out of the bedroom on Tuesday February 4, 2003 sometime between 8:15 PM and 9:15 PM and has not been seen since.

I've said it before; I'll say it again: yawn.

The frequency of these Amber alerts is amazing and does nothing but makes them more irrelevant. So many of these alerts are unjustified hoaxes that the important ones are meaningless.

Furthermore, what's the deal with crimes involving children? Are they somehow more important? Are they just more shocking? Should Tom Ridge raise the terrorism threat level because of this?

This is one adorqble little girl. Photo I saw on tv showed more of her outfit. In that cute little hat and flower print dress, she looks like she just came home from church. May God bles her and keep her safe.

The Amber Alert has been called off as the number of tips has dwindled and there was no vehicle to track. Many volunteers were out today. They said they won't need volunteers to help look any further unless more information comes in.

The father has been ruled out. He was located in the area and took a lie detector test. The boyfriend of the grandmother appears to be ruled out also.

The police are turning their attention to sex offenders who live in the area. There are 167 registered sex offenders of which 6 are level 3. Kennewick only has a population of around 50,000 to 60,000.

I pray for Sofia's safe return.
