Excellent analysis, John.

I find it really ironic that the same people who screamed about "Clinton-haters" are now "Bush-haters" of much greater virulence.

When Clinton sent troops to the Mideast in 1998, those of us who didn't care for him were cynical, but we didn't oppose the idea of finally taking care of Saddam. That's because, in the end, we're more concerned with the safety of the United States being protected than with Bill Clinton's poll ratings going up after a war.

The leftists who hate Bush almost are hoping for nothing to be done to Iraq, then for a subsequent terrorist attack that they can blame on Bush's incompetence (note how Hillary is positioning herself). It's probably the most disgusting display of widespread naked partisanship in my lifetime. They're putting our safety gravely at risk in order to undermine a President they don't like. That's simply really messed up.

Well said, friend.

When Clinton sent troops to the Mideast in 1998

And, gee, I don't recall demands for *PROOF* -- absolute, ironclad evidence -- to justify Clinton's military strikes against Serbia. Nor calls for U.N. approval, either. Indeed, if memory serves, X42 went AROUND the U.N. altogether.
