With the destruction of the Columbia, how damaged is the space program? With politicians in the pockets of the Chicoms, are they going to be influenced to defund the program? They can run on the platform of "We don't need no rocket ships when the people can't afford potato chips!"

Imagine lines like "They can put a man on the moon, but we can't get affordable health care" coming from the usual suspects.

Although, to be fair, I've only heard calls for inreased funding for the space program.
