WASHINGTON --
Sen. John Kerry accused the Bush administration of putting special interests ahead of the environment and called for a renewed national commitment to clean air, water and land.
"Corporate polluters have found that in the Bush administration the doors of government are wide open," Kerry, D-Mass., said in remarks prepared for delivery Sunday night. "Almost as soon as this administration took office they invited in the chief lobbyists to rewrite the very laws that were intended to protect our land, our water, and our air. And not surprisingly, the result was the biggest retreat on environmental protections in a generation."
Kerry, one of six seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, was to deliver the speech at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston.

And this garbonzo is running for president? If Kerry can't find something besides the same transparent DemonRat party line to spew, he won't even make it out of the starting gate of the campaign. People just aren't buying it anymore.

Looks like the Democreeps don't know where to turn next. Their voting population is angry at them for voting for war and so they have to change the subject somehow. Sort of like what Clinton did with WAG THE DOG!!

They hide the bolts in his neck.

Amazing that all these democreeps can talk the talk about the environment but they do nothing about it when it comes to their lifestyle changes.

Did Kerry speak out at Gore's dismal environmental record? Gore was supposed to be all for environment. However, his actions were those of someone not concerned in the least with environment.
Other than certain envirnmental concerns, Bush is even more vulnerable on the issue of protecting our borders.

It's real impressive to see the Mercedes Marxists/Limousine Liberals insist on conservation for everyboby but them. I've heard a few celebrities say with a completely straight face, when asked why they don't drive a Honda Civic and live a small cabin, that conservation is for other people, not them. I am serious! Is it drugs, stupidity, or both?

I love it!

Yeah, Klinton and Gore were all about big business while publicly cursing it. Bush gets griped on for being an oil guy. At least he's open about it. And I don't see Bush making every shady business deal under the sun so that he can personally profit from illegal defense deals with enemy countries. I also haven't heard of Bush accepting money from China and letting them steal every nuclear secret we have in return. Klinton has offshore bank accounts all over the place with money from his shady deals, that's why he's never here.

Kerry youre right, its time for Americas Presidential Candidates to stand up and take the pledge to stop using oil. I suggest that you move first to capture the issue.
Pledge to stop using oil.
No more transportation by vehicles which use oil.
No more using devices powered by oil or powered by energy derived from oil such as electricity.
No more supporting organizations which derive revenue from oil companies such as TV with their ads from oil companies. Therefore no more TV appearances.
That should show them.

Interesting take from the Boston Globe:
"Kerry's speech is more rhetorical broadside than detailed policy statement. In fact, the text does not include key passages in previous environmental speeches, such as the senator's goal of producing 20 percent of the country's electricity from alternative and renewable energy sources by the year 2020.
"Instead, the speech is one in a series the Kerry campaign plans in the coming weeks to maintain its profile and critique of the administration while he works behind closed doors to raise money and fill out his campaign staff. Outside Senate business, Kerry will be raising funds virtually this entire month, seeking to establish himself as the strongest alternative to Bush when he and his rivals for the Democratic nomination release new campaign finance reports in late April." (The Boston Globe, Glen Johnson, 2/9/03)
http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/040/nation/Kerry_critiques_Bush_environmental_agenda_as_falling_short+.shtml
In other words, Kerry isn't really offering any substantive environmental policy with this speech, it is just a political ploy designed to keep his name in the news while he desperately raises money.

I really do think he should have first formed an
Exploratory Committee to first explore.
Everytime I think of Kerry, I think of exploratory committees.
