I heard about these Russians a couple of months ago when I saw the cover of "Mixer" magazine at my local newsstand. I thought they would just be a novelty. I didn't know they would make it to #1 in Britain. Maybe they're more of a novelty than I thought. I guess it's the whole subculture of men who likes to see two young women together who are driving up their sales.

Teenage boys nation wide have now begun to buy up the records and download pics of this group.
Good way to try to promote tolerance of homosexuality, make it so titillating to the american youth that they will spend millions on it yearly, and cheapen it to the point of boistrous absurdity.

Hasn't Britain always fawned over homosexual musicians?
I mean, Boy George, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, David Bowie, Soft Cell, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, etc. etc. - sounds like "swinging the other way" is guaranteed to make you a pop star in the UK!

Ahhhhhhhhh.... the smell of it!!!

The reason why these young girls are making waves is that the music is really, really good. My daughter has the cd, and this stuff is melodically haunting. I don't really hear much of the words as she normally listens to it in her room, but what I have heard is poetic. It's really beautiful music.
My daughter showed me the cd, almost apologizing & defending their lesbianism, but said, "listen to this" and turned it on. I did, and she was right-- it's good.

I guess it's the whole subculture of men who likes to see two young women together... It really seems like there is. Being a "healthy" male I don't understand it. I'm struck by the disfunctionality of the whole thing. Guess I'm a Tab-A into Slot-B as well as a "hands on" kind of guy. It not something I choose to casually nor passively observe. I imagine there's a lot of people who feel the same way but just "go along with the crowd" when in a group of guys. Whatever...

Thanks for sharing this with me. I may have to download some mp3s of their stuff before I consider their CD. Do they write their own stuff, or are they "produced?"

Admittingly, the song "All The Things She Said" is catchy, kinda like the way Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping" took the charts by storm. Chumbawumba is your perennial one-hit-wonder. Haven't heard T.A.T.U.'s other songs so I can't predict how long their act will last.

Even on FR, there are plenty of men who are enticed by hot lesbian action, though that appeal is lost on me. I just see it as two more lost opportunities.

LOL!!!! Well, I think it depends on what "kind" of lesbian the two lesbians are. If they are the man-hating "butch" type, then you have no chance, and I wouldn't even try, because they are probably too far gone (and their looks... let's not go there). If they are the enticing-to-men kind (T.A.T.U. is of this type), maybe it is two more lost opportunities. Who knows...... ;-)

I checked the attributions on the cd, and they are not writing either the music or the lyrics-- I don't know what you mean by "produced", but the sound is very orchestral.

Some article; "Aunt" Jemima is lezzy, eh?

They did a special about this group on some entertainment show or something, and their management admitted it was a marketing ploy. These girls were total strangers when the group formed. Of course, maybe they aren't strangers now.
