The Republicans are smart to promote conservatives, rather than pandering to liberals. It is vital to the future of this nation that the idea of members of minority groups being conservative be legitimized. Conservatism should be seen as normative across the board.

I'm sick of hearing how it's "affirmative action" for a black or Hispanic to be nominated for something. First of all, right away, whoever says it means that the nominee is not as qualified as a white. In the case of Estrada, and Condoleeza Rice, this is NOT the case. Second, Dems can't have it both ways, by saying Reps are a party for white men, and then complain when Rs reach out to minorities. Showing blacks/Hispanics successful in life is what liberals claim they like to see. It's extremely divisive to try to tear down people just because you don't like their political ideology.
