The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us as we honor Notra Trulock, patriot and author of Code Name Kindred Spirit: Inside the Chinese Nuclear Espionage Scandal

Mr. Trulock, the former head of the Department of Energy's Intelligence Office has paid a steep price for trying to alert his superiors, Congress and his fellow Americans to the dangerous security problems at our nuclear weapons labs.

Mr. Trulock was a whistleblower in the Clinton era--a time when whistleblowers were crucified by the mainstream press, not celebrated on the cover of Time magazine.

He stood tall and paid a heavy price, suffering indiginities from being labeled a racist to being denied a job in his field and being subjected to outrageous government scrutiny.

Notra Trulock became an American hero for doing nothing more than steadfastly speaking the truth when speaking the truth was a dangerous thing to do.

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is proud to stand with Mr. Trulock. His strength of spirit in defense of Liberty is an example to us all.

BUMP! Thanks for the invite. I'm interested, but, man, another trip to tha big city. Depending on the $$ of gas by then, we'll see. On a positive note, seems like the old warwagon is getting better mileage these days - only used slightly over half a tank there and back again last night to see the Caps lose.

I find his name to be interisting. "Notra" (never have known anyone with that name)......"Trulock" (another interisting name).

The book review says, basically, he doesn't tell all in the book. I would love to talk to him about that.

He is a hero in my book. It would be my pleasure to meet him. I will try and make this.
