Haven't had a chance to read all of this, but I was prepared for y2K also. Yes, I was one "of those."

Anyway, I still have 6-55 gallon drums of water in my garage for an emergency. It's good for 5 years, so I still have 2 years on it.

My question....if your home is all taped up because of Nuclear fallout, or bio attacks, how does one get fresh air into it. Wouldn't you eventually pass out from lack of oxygen and an over-abundance of carbon dioxide?

You'll be okay for 3-4 days. Turn on a fan and mix the air well in/from all rooms.

If you've got direct or even diffused sunlight, houseplants can convert CO2 to oxygen.
