"The smart bombs will have no effect worth mentioning in the hills and in the trenches, on plains, and in forests. They must have apparent targets. The well-camouflaged trenches and targets will not be reached by either the smart or the stupid missiles. There will only be haphazard strikes that dissipate the enemy ammunition and waste its money. Dig many trenches."
Yes, dig many, many trenches... inside of Baghdad? Very interesting. In Desert Storm, we put plows in front of our tanks and simply buried them.

They also depend on massive air strikes so as to conceal their most prominent point of weakness, which is the fear, cowardliness, and the absence of combat spirit among US soldiers. Those soldiers are completely convinced of the injustice and lying of their government.
Yeah, right. Meanwhile your buddy Saddam is ordering his troops to hide behind innocent women and children as they prepare to "fight". What a bunch of chicken-Sh*ts you "mooselums" are. I can't wait to see the videos of your dead, rotting corpse (stuffed in a pigskin).

On the other hand, we should note with much interest the tactics they employed. I don't think the speaker[whoever he is] is being totally dishonest when he relates his figures of casualties. I mean, 6% of 300 isn't a whole lot given the amount of force expended, even with the probability that the numbers are inaccurate. To me, it would indicate that they had some measure of success in defending themselves against the bombardments.
Politically, however, why would anyone listen to a person living in a cave, apparently unable to mount any offensive himself?

Under these circumstances, there will be no harm if the interests of Muslims converge with the interests of the socialists in the fight against the crusaders, despite our belief in the infidelity of socialists. The jurisdiction of the socialists and those rulers has fallen a long time ago... The fighting, which is waging and which will be waged these days, is very much like the fighting of Muslims against the Byzantine in the past. And the convergence of interests is not detrimental. The Muslims' fighting against the Byzantine converged with the interests of the Persians. And this was not detrimental to the companions of the prophet. The "socialists" have been working with these guys from the very beginning, and probably a few of them knew about 9/11 in advance. There is no other explanation for the spped with which they were able to mobilize their anti-retaliation movement, which has grown rapidly into the present anti-war movement.
Every single one of these "peace and justice" groups in the anti-war movement is "socialist" to one degree or other. Yes, even the church groups. Every single one. They all think the United States and capitalism is the problem.
It's very interesting, watching the chaff detach from the wheat, stand up, and call attention to itself.
Check for coverage of the antiwar rally in NYC this Saturday. A big deal is being made of this rally NOT being sponsored by ANSWER, and almost no mention of the fact that the organizer of this "non-commie" rally is a pro-Castro communist named Leslie Cagan.
Fellow travelers all. They would rather aid the terrorists, because they seek the downfall of America. That's what it will take to set up their socialist utopis.

And now I'm off to read the other translation, to see if the socialist/Islamist connection is described differently.

These poor clowns have no idea how much wealth the United States produces.I was thinking this same thing a few days ago when I was in a parking lot looking around at all the cars, any one of which would cost the average babbling, moon-god worshipping barbarian mystic several lifetimes of work to afford.
Yes, Abdul, we'll run out of missiles... just keep eating them and hoping...

<> Thanks for the post. One would think with all the 24/7 cable outfits, one could hear this message for themselves - rather than isolated snippets<>

You know, I'm starting to think this Bin Laden fella's got an attitude problem.

<> It does apear OBL is clearer in his thinking about Afghanistan than we in America are. The Soviet Union, right next door, couldn't defeat them yet we will? Come on....And one hears talk about "regeime change" as though it were no more complicated than San Francisco firing Mariucci and hiring Dennis Erickson. Yet, Iraq is incredibly fractious and Dubya is dragging us up to the gates of Hell and I pity the wasted lives our sons and daughters will have tip-toeing around these folks and trying to avoid being bit in the ass by Cerebus. We are being dragged into the pits...

This tape seems to have been made by "someone", as Powell suggests other than bin Laden, but ON BEHALF of bin Laden, and probably came right from the alQaeda cell in Iraq or Iran, and on behalf of Iraq, in the name of bin LadenI have no way of knowing which version of the tape is correct (if either of them are), and I don't think I've ever heard BL speak. But this text has no passion or imagery; and the voice I heard played on Fox this morning certainly doesn't go with what I'd expect of BL. The voice souned like it belonged to someone much shorter and someone much younger. I'm with you. I don't buy that he made this tape.
To: Angelus Errare
"The only language between you and us is the sword that will strike your necks." And the French, Germans, and Russians actually think that there can be a diplomatic solution?
To: travelnurse
Please forget my stupid remarks about the voice. I heard them play a bit of the tape again, and it dawned on me that BL would not have made the address in English--I was listening to an interpreter :)
