Clinton's Axis of Evil: Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity
NewsMax.com ^ | 2/13/03 | Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff

It looks like ex-President Bill Clinton has his own Axis of Evil, although the threats he warned about yesterday have nothing to do with terrorism.

"(The Republicans) have a much better media machine than we do," Clinton insisted to "Today" show host Katie Couric, before naming, "Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity," who he said "are very outspoken, and are on the right wing of the Republican Party."

Other cogs in the GOP's "media machine," according to the ex-president, include the Heritage Foundation and "sympathetic newspapers and sympathetic cable programs that are heavily weighted in their favor."

"There are five people in America with more than two hours on radio," Clinton first explained. Then he cited radio hosts Howard Stern, who he said wasn't political, and Don Imus, who he described as "more Republican than Democrat," before naming the conservative talk radio trio.

The ex-president said that the media's right-wing tilt meant that Democrats "have to be more disciplined, more clear and more focused" in getting their message out.

Imus and O'Reilly are hardly conservative mouthpieces. Imus is more of a political sycophant and press-establishment wannabe. O'Reilly, while holding some conservative views, is less a political animal than a cultural critic.

Was "Pancho Willie"(take from the rich keep most of it and give bits to the poor) wearing pink? Maybe his boxers were pink. This poor bloke won't ever get it and take responsibility. The bravest action he ever under took, was waging war on those poor souls in Waco.

Shut up Pancho

The whole interview was nothing but me, me, me, I, I, I. It was totally disgusting. His ability to lie does not appear to dimish with age.

He's just angry that they aren't on his side. Hey, it was the other way for so long that it was time for a change.

The only words I want to hear from Bent willie and crusty klinton are:

"What do you mean guilty, and why do I have to spend the rest of my life in jail".

Wrong again Billy Boy, Howard is very political, just not a loyal partisan. He is basically a socially liberal pro-war libertarian. He will take a strong stand on his side of the issue, it's just that his side does not fit the two major parties.

Plus I think little Billy Boy is afraid to raise Stern's ire. ;-)

I just love Rush's analysis of why the radio market is so conservative, and TV liberal. In radio, you must intellectually explain a subject, on TV you can throw up 30 seconds of opinion, then show 29 minutes of kittens and puppies. It's a challenge of intellect versus emotion. In radio, the show's host must be informed, on TV the hosts (Rather and Co.) need not be informed. Liberals cannot stand to compete in an intellectual debate; their life's blood is emotion.

this seems completely untrue.Bubba said Howard Stern, Imus, Rush, Hannity. Lets list other radio shows longer than two hours here. Especially the LW ones

77WABC NYC
Ron Kuby in on 5 hours a day weekdays
Richard Bey is on 2 hours weekdays and 3 hours on Saturday

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Washington Post, NY Times, LA Times, Boston Globe, NPR, Helen "Sea Hag" Thomas, et. al. All of those and all Big Dog can whine about is three people? He's sounding very French lately.
