[history]
Americans United for Separation of Church and State said Wednesday it is launching a major legal challenge against a nationally recognized Iowa prison program in which 210 inmates immerse themselves in Christian-oriented values.
The Newton Correctional Facility program, known as the InnerChange Freedom Initiative, is sponsored by Prison Fellowship. President Bush has called InnerChange a model for faith-based social services. Similar programs operate in Texas, Kansas and Minnesota.

I work as a mentor for this program and it is one of the most fun, rewarding and faith building things I have ever done.
Currently the recidivism rate for graduates of the program is 7% vs. 50-60% for the general population. That state of Iowa has just approved expanding this program by 60 beds just because it works.

Why don't they go after the Muslim imams in the prisons, who are often preaching jihad, instead of the Christians?

I guess Ms. Khan's desire to see religion wiped off the planet is more important that men's lives healed and restored.

I would appreciate some good comments from you as I plan on printing this out and using some of your comments to get this issue on a local radio station. (indirect Free Republic promotion)
The IFI prisoners have produced a short video tape on their program, let me know if you would like a copy and I will make sure you get one.

The Muslims will be free to pursue their al-Qaeda indoctination to be sure....
Prison Fellowship has the highest sucess rate (lowered recidivism rate) of ANY program...ANY PROGRAM regardless of its orientation, experts, professionals or private or state sponsorship..it has been a God sent to the inmates AND TO THE STAFF....guards also belong and have established good relationships with the inmates who participate...
Prison Fellowship has worked miracles among prison believers..
Why wouldnt you want inmates who after serving their time and get out to be upright decent citizens instead of repeat rapists, thieves, murderers, armed robbers, burglars etc....
Why would the ACLU and the athesists be against this?
The ACLU is intolerant of the God in whom we trust..which imo makes them Anti- Christ & Anti-American and all America has ,until they arrived on the scene, stood for....

They and the muslims have the same agenda and they are more than willing to help the muslims advance their cause.
What they fail to take into consideration is that should the muslims be able to eraduicate Christianity, they will eraducate them next.

Yes. Christianity no longer has the force of will, especially in Europe, to oppose Islam. The real battle is going to be between Islam and Secular-Humanism/Socialism. However, most of the idiot adherents of the latter 'religion' haven't figured that out yet.
