Why would an intelligent, honorable, classy thinker like David Limbaugh waste his time writing a critique of some silly column from a washed-up old bore like Cohen? I don't even understand why David would read that guy's column let alone critique it.
The Richard Cohens of the Old Media are sick with fear that they're losing their grip on the media currents of our time. The fear is justified. It's not clear whether it would be better to ignore them as they sink; they're still capable of mounting some powerful obstructions against the rising pro-American, pro-capitalist wave.
I'm particularly piqued by their inability to see how their current criticisms of the Bush Administration make their enthusiastic endorsements of the Clinton Administration into obvious, partisan flummery. Highlighting that sort of thing is a pure gain for the Right, as the public is more sensitive to hypocrisy among politicians than it is to virtually any other sin they commit.
