Maybe it isn't useful for the US to give Israel a pass when they send controlled US technology to China

Exactly what controlled US technology did the Chinese buy from the Israelis that they couldn't get from Bill Clinton for free?

According to Bill Gertz of the Wash Times, Israel sold Patriot missile technology to China.

Since the AWACS sales didn't go forward, and since I don't know anything about the technology that's in an AWACS anyway, I really don't know. The point, however, is that Israel was in the process of selling US technology to China when they'd agreed (or it was at least understood) they wouldn't. That's why the US complained.

Here's a tidbit from Mr. Gertz....

"In 1992, the Pentagon investigated intelligence reports that Israel covertly exported U.S. Patriot missile technology to China. Israel and China denied the reports. U.S. intelligence officials were convinced the transfer took place."

Of course this may not bother a Canadian, but American's have a right to not appreciate such double dealing.
