MOSCOW, Feb 14 (AFP) - Former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev, who gave his tacit approval for the 1991 Gulf War, said Friday that Washington was at fault for the current standoff with Baghdad.
"The US administration seems to believe that the new world order should become an area of American control, where its interests will be a priority and the interests of others will be ignored," Gorbachev told Friday's issue of the state-controlled Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily.
"The situation will not change ... until America makes an effort and becomes more realistic," the former Noble Peace Prize winner said.
"There is a need for deep change in America itself," said Gorbachev, adding that he believed the faults for the crisis "are not with Iraq."
Gorbachev was instrumental in the Soviet Union's decision not to veto a UN Security Council vote authorizing the use of force against Iraq aimed at forcing its withdrawal from neighboring Kuwait in 1991.

I can't reply to this article without using some very unladylike language, so "no comment" to Gorby for now.

I guess old splotchy doesn't like the phrase "REGIME CHANGE".
BWAAHAAHAAHAAAHAAAA!

"The US administration seems to believe that the new world order should become an area of American control" - Gorbachev
And you, Gorby, believe that the NWO should be a "worker's paradise."

""There is a need for deep change in America itself," said Gorbachev, adding that he believed the faults for the crisis "are not with Iraq." " I can't imagine what he's referring to. Oh,
sacrifice of National and personal sovereignty to global authority, of course!
Thank you for your input Michael.

Yeah, lets take advice from the guy who personally oversaw the dismantling of his own country. I can't help but think this when he says 'America needs to change'.

I saw a plague on the whole concept of the NWO whether by Bush or Gorby.

That's right Gorbi, our interests are killing those who would kill us. Everyone elses interests can pissoff.
If he wants to become part of our problem, he can take a number. We'll get to him right after we take care of Iraq, N.Korea, Soddi Arabi, France, and China. As you can see, We are experiencing a high volume of calls. It may be 10 or 11 months before we get to you.

"The US administration seems to believe that the new world order should become an area of American control, where its interests will be a priority and the interests of others will be ignored," If there is to be a new world order, it dam well better be led by the United States... Congratulations to President Bush, who has the guts to stand up to world communism.

MOSCOW, Feb 14 (AFP) - Former
Communist Dictator Mikhail Gorbachev,
one time heir to the seat of power previously held by mass murderers Stalin and Lennin who gave his tacit approval for the 1991 Gulf War, said Friday that Washington was at fault for the current standoff with Baghdad.
"The US administration seems to believe that the new world order should become an area of American control, where its interests will be a priority and the interests of others will be ignored," Gorbachev told Friday's issue of the state-controlled Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily.
"The situation will not change ... until America makes an effort and becomes more realistic," the former head of World Communism said.
"There is a need for deep change in America itself," said Gorbachev, adding that he believed the faults for the crisis "are not with Iraq." Gorbachev was instrumental in the Soviet Union's decision not to veto a UN Security Council vote authorizing the use of force against Iraq aimed at forcing its withdrawal from neighboring Kuwait in 1991 when Ammerican President Ronald Reagan was near victory in his 40 year quest to crush the evil Soviet empire.
just felt the historical perspective was lacking, so I added it!

What po's me about all these world leaders spouting "US is the agressor" is the implication that the US should wait until more US citizens die at the hands of more terrorist attacks before President Bush does what he said he would do on 9/12/01 to those complicit with terrorists. Any one of these politicos who honestly believes that SH is not involved with terrorist is nieve at best. In the case of France and Germany, they must have something to hide and what ever it is, its in Iraq. Iraq and SH is just first on Bush's list.

Mr. NWO himself. I don't know what we would have done if Gorby hadn't given the U.S. his "tacit approval" for the Gulf War. Punted, I suppose.
