An ancient virus traced to the earliest monkeys to roam earth appears to strongly suppress the AIDS virus in modern-day humans, potentially opening a new -- and controversial -- window of treatment for patients who exhaust all other options, scientists reported yesterday.

"Williams...equated the presence of GBV-C as being akin to getting a boost of 300 T-cells, the precious immune-system warriors that are a prime measure of an AIDS patient's health."
T-Cells -- the mighty Freepers of the body politic! It would make a good Freepname.

What worries me, without knowing more than this article says, is that virtually every treatment for AIDS thus far simply serves to lengthen the time that AIDS carriers have to transmit the disease to other people. So we have very expensive, tax-payer funded treatment keeping the AIDS plague going instead of trying to stop its spread.
I'm not at all confident in the scientific research done on AIDS. Some of it is genuine, no doubt, but like everything else these days much of it is politicized and simply cannot be trusted. We have seen again and again that only politically-correct research is funded or published, and that doesn't give much confidence in the results.

AIDS does not frighten me at all. It kills those who engage in disgusting filthy behavior. Yeah, I know, it also claims a very few innocent victims, but it is 99.99% a behaviorally causeed disease.
I don't engage in filthy Sodomite behaviors. Not a problem.
