NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario - Two men with Pakistani passports were detained at the Canadian border Friday, and Canadian authorities said they were testing substances found with the men as a precaution.
Cpl. Michele Paradis of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the two walked separately into Canada across the Rainbow Bridge from Niagara Falls, N.Y. They were being questioned by U.S. and Canadian officials.

Texas has one of the nation's fastest-growing Middle Eastern populations, and most of the state's immigrants live in Houston, according to a study based on census data.
Researchers at the Center for Immigration Studies say Texas' Middle Eastern population more than doubled in the last decade, to just over 100,000, including more than 52,000 in Greater Houston.

It appears the world has forgotten the part in the invitation to "send the wretched masses from your teeming shores" that includes the caveat of "yearning to breathe free".
