Indeed it does. If memory serves, Bodansky's biography of bin Laden provides evidence that bin Laden and the Islamists tried to take credit for TWA 800. Something published in a London Arabic-language newspaper, as I recall.

I also remember reading, a couple of days after the TWA 800 crash, in the Corriere della Sera that an El Al flight had been scheduled to take off at the time TWA 800 in fact took off, because of flight delays.
