Mayor of London Launches Fierce Attack On Bush
Anti-war march: what the speakers said ^
Posted on 02/15/2003 11:42:29 AM PST by maquiladora
At the anti-war march in London:
The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, launched a scathing attack on the US president, George Bush, during his address to crowds in London's Hyde Park.
"This is a president who uses the death penalty with complete abandon and disregard for any respect for life. This is no example," Mr Livingstone said.
"So let everyone recognise what has happened here today: that Britain does not support this war for oil. The British people will not tolerate being used to prop up the most corrupt and racist American administration in over 80 years.
"If you listened to Tony Blair today ... he talked about giving more time to the inspectors, he talked about the need for a new UN resolution, and there's the weakness.
"There are nations on the security council that are for sale. Nations who will be offered the liquidation of their debts and offered major grants. Let's watch the security council like hawks.
"Let's not, having won the moral case and demonstrated the opposition of the world, lose this fight because of corruption and vote-buying on the security council."

Jesse Jackson and Tony Benn also had puke-worthy things to say.

I won't say it, I won't say it. I'm biting my tongue, but I won't say it.

It never ends. The clinical psychosis of the left has full root both at home and abroad.
US Democrats should openly rebuke this person.

"Red" Ken Livingstone has been a confirmed communist for years. His statements should come as not surprise. That London would make him mayor should come as a surprise.

But this is also the type of stuff that may very well solidify support for President Bush here in the USA.
Incidentally, Fox News is during a superb job reporting on these "protests," including who is actually behind it and what they are actually saying.

The British people will not tolerate being used to prop up the most corrupt and racist American administration in over 80 years.Which translates, loosely, into "Someone pay attention to MEEEEEEE!!!!! Yes, London DOES have a mayor! You may not have ever heard me say anything in the news too often, but I'm relevent! Really! I'm important! I am! I AM! I AM!!!!"

You mean the Mayor of London, the 5 block square? If you didn't know, london is the smallest burrow in the greater City.

"This is a president who uses the death penalty with complete abandon and disregard for any respect for life. This is no example," Mr Livingstone said. This is also no fact. The federal death penalty, far from being applied with "complete abandon," is applied rarely. Its most recent application was in the case of Timothy McVeigh. And that wasn't under the Bush administration.
The British people will not tolerate being used to prop up the most corrupt and racist American administration in over 80 years.
What evidence does he present of "corruption?" And where did the "racist" epithet come from? Why doesn't he just call Bush a "big, fat poopyhead and a dumb butt and a jerkface"? It would be no less immature.

If Mr Stanley had not found Dr Livingston maybe this bozo would never have been born. Well, Mayor Livingston if there is a major terror attack on London how should I feel?Should I react as a barbarian and care not? I think not,why should I lower myself to stoop to your level.I might add that a brave constable of the London Police Department was stabbed to death when police raided a house suspecting of holding Muslim terrorists and the deadly nerve agent Ricin. God bless him and as for you.Well, God bless you too.And have a nice day, really!

The Mayor of London can go to Hell. Where he can meet up with Hitler and Saddam after we send him there.

"This is a president who uses the death penalty with complete abandon and disregard for any respect for life. Translation: he upheld the Texas statutes as required by Texas law, but when is the law any concern for a communist!
"Let's not, having won the moral case and demonstrated the opposition of the world, lose this fight because of corruption and vote-buying on the security council."
Now that's insulting!
Bush is a Republican, not a Democrat.
