Pray for President Bush

"You are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hid.
Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bush,
but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works
and give glory to your Father Who is in heaven. "

Heavenly Father,

You are our lamp, O Lord; You turn our darkness into light. Help us to know the mysteries of that Light as we dwell on this earth, and may we also come to fully understand Your joy one day in heaven. Thank You for sending us the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ to be our Saviour, to live among us, and to pay the price for our sins. Help us to hold fast our feet to the steps of Jesus Christ, that we may keep to Your ways without turning aside.

Guide and bless our President today, Lord. He is Your child. Help him to let his light so shine before the world, that all may see his good works and give glory to You, our God. He needs Your wise counsel and Your strong hand to direct his path. Fill him with Your wisdom, that he may have the mind of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. We pray that You would protect him from the plots and schemes of the wicked. How we praise You for all that You have done through him during his presidency! Lord, we thank You that You have begun a good work in him and that You will be faithful to complete it. Please guide him through the week that lies ahead. Let his steps be securely planted on the path You place before him. Help Him to hear and obey Your voice, trusting in You for his every need.

Please continue to strengthen our military personnel and all those who are working to protect this nation. Comfort those whose loved ones have been deployed for war activities. Lord, we pray that You would use everything that has happened in this nation since the 9/11 attacks, for Your glory and for our good. Let those who have been searching for answers hear a special calling from the Holy Spirit; and may our churches reach out to those who are looking for the missing link in their broken lives.

Thank You, Gracious God for hearing these prayers today. We love You because You first loved us. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

I pray for the protection of President Bush, Vice President Cheney, cabinet officers, military personnel, and their families. We know that evil men wish them harm. Surround them all with Your angels of potection.

Thank You for these times in which we can praise Your name and live the way You wish us to. Help us to, in all things, be that which You want.

Amen to your prayers this Lord's Day afternoon!

Dear Heavenly Father, as we come before You today, understanding that we are the creation and You are the Creator, we thank You that You deign to hear our prayers. We thank You that You have asked us to bring our prayers and our petitions to You, and that You will hear and answer our prayer. We realize as well, that You do not always answer as we would like, but You always answer what is best for us in Your Sovereignty and Love.

We ask today a special blessing of protection for our President. We ask that You would grant his request to You for wisdom and guidance, that he would be able to see what Your will for him, and for our nation is, and that he would be able to hear Your voice speaking to him.

We thank You for Your mercy in giving us a President who names Your Name, who claims Your promises, and who lives his life in obedience to You. We thank You for providing to him a loving, Godly wife who supports and comforts him. We thank You for giving him the wisdom to choose strong, intelligent men and women as his Cabinet and advisors, and we ask that You would also give them Your wisdom.

Father, these are difficult times, and we are sometimes afraid of what is ahead, but even though we don't know what the future holds, we do indeed know that You hold the future. We ask that a shield of protection be placed over this country, and in particular Washington and New York City, and we ask with deep fervor that You protect those young men and women in the military who are, or will soon be in harm's way defending our freedom, and the freedom of the world. We ask that those among them who know Your Son, Jesus, as Savior, would be a beacon of light and truth to those around them, both among their fellow soldiers, sailors and airmen, and among the people in the rest of the world who so desperately need to know of Your love.

We thank You today for this great country that You have so richly blessed, and we ask that You would bring a revival among us, that we would awaken spiritually and come back to Biblical truth and righteousness. In Your Holy and Mighty Name I pray, Amen.

Dear Lord,

Your son was sent to live with us to teach us about Faith, Hope and Charity. The greatest gift was love. You are worried about each one of us and wish only for each one of us to be good and to do your work here on earth--to the least of your people. We need your Holy Spirit in our lives so that we don't lose sight of what you want us to do. We pray to you for guidance but it is up to us to make things come about with your help.

Please guide the president and his administration to do that which is right and good. Please let us also see what is right and good and please help us deal with our enemies. We pray for the enemies of the USA that they will allow your love in their hearts. They claim that God is on their side--but they wish us evil and death only-- this is not my God. Please, dear Lord, show our enemies your love and soften their hearts and their minds. We all want a peaceful resolution to the Iraq disarmament but force, at times, must be used to rid the world of evil.

The Iraqi people are suffering under the tyrannical dictator Saddam Hussein. May we be able to liberate them of their misery and their loss of freedom which we all love.

" Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God's love is not living in that person." 1 John 3:17

Lord, I pray that you guard and guide President Bush and all our officials. Let them hear your wisdom, let them know your ways. Let them not turn to the left or to the right, but let them keep moving forward in you, despite the opposition.

I pray for the leaders of other lands, Lord, that they too might be guided by your perfect will. Give the peoples peace, dear Lord, that we can be a shining example and that, most of all, your Good News of salvation can go forth.

Father, if there are any who are determinedly opposed to the outworking of your plans, I ask that you bring confusion to their camp. If possible, let it be a discipline to draw them to you. In Jesus name I ask these things.
