Maryland Judge Arrested at Restaurant (drunk?)

Judge Herman C. Dawson, 45, who was appointed to the bench in 1998, was taken to jail in handcuffs about 10 p.m. after he allegedly refused to leave the Outback Steakhouse on Lottsford Court despite being asked to do so repeatedly by employees and county police, according to authorities and the owner of the franchise.

At one point, according to a police affidavit, Dawson "repeated in a loud, boisterous voice, 'Why do I have to leave? Do you know who I am? I am a judge.' "

Adina M. Lavoie, the franchise owner, said Dawson arrived about 5 p.m. and sat at a table with a couple of friends. Over the next several hours, she said, the judge consumed three mixed drinks, ate three loaves of honey bread and visited with acquaintances at other tables and in the restaurant's bar area.

I got a feeling there's more to this story. He might have been drinking before he got there, or his friends were ordering drinks for him, or he was on something.

Since he's a judge he may have had someone order and be charged for his drinks. IOW He paid for 3 but drank more than 3.
