Heh... I gotta admit, it's better than watching "Spitball" reruns on CNBC with Chrith Matthews or Donawho... :-)

Two come to mind immediately.

First a comedy--Cary Grant's classic, "Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House." I'll bet not many of you have seen it, but you can't take your eyes off it once it starts.

Second, a drama--"To Sir With Love." It explains more about the problems of teaching than any film or book ever could.

Every DVD collection should contain these:

Dr. Strangelove
The Godfather

Congress should make it law.

Thanks for asking this question. Hubby just asked me a few days ago to give him a list of dvds I'd like cuz he wanted to buy some more.

Braveheart is my fav.

Galaxy Quest and You Can't Take It With You are fun and you can watch them with your kids.

I'm not that attracted to Will Ferrell, I must admit.

The Glenn Miller Story. Even though the time line is a bit skewered, it still is a great movie about a great man.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Before that, I would have had to waffle and equivocate, and probably give my top five or top ten movies. Not anymore.

Terry Gilliam masterpiece

Not to ruin your day, but did you know that the Harry Potter book series was inspired by Time Bandits?
