I just turned and looked out my office window and saw a column of black smoke rising towards Union Beach/Perth Amboy NJ.
I then felt the force of an explosion rattle my window.

Taking the move along, nothing to see here line...
A bridge on Statan Island now shut down...
Positive note: It is not in a residential area...

PORT MOBIL is near Kreishlerville, Staten Island, across the Arthur Kill from Woodbridge, New Jersey.
The Port Mobil refinery is in a sparsley populated area but shockwaves from the explosion may cause damage.

Fox has a gentleman on that says there could be up to 1,000,000 gallons of petroleum could be on this barge. At least they are assuming there is a barge under all this smoke and flames.

Looks like the war has resumed. I am not so sure of that. But I worked in Manhattan on 9-11 and the following year, and would have seen this fire from my window it sounds like. I think I'll give them a call.
