In the 1980s, Saddam gave shelter to notorious Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal, but later expelled him at Washington's behest. Didn't Abu Nidal just die in Baghdad a few months ago?

Yes, Abu Nidal died in Baghdad on August 16, 2002. He was expelled from Iraq in 1983. He moved to Damascus, then Tripoli, then Egypt, and finally back to Baghdad in 1998.
